DEFT acronym for Digital Evidence & Forensic Toolkit is a Xubuntu Linux-based Computer Forensics live CD. It is designed to meet police, investigators, system administrator and Computer Forensics specialist’s needs.

It is a very easy to use system that includes an excellent hardware detection and the best free and open source applications dedicated to incident response and computer forensics.
Deft is meant to be used by:
  • police
  • investigators
  • system administrator
  • individuals
and all the people who need to use forensic tool but don’t know the open source operative systems and the Forensic techniques.
DEFT is built for information security profetional dealing with cyber crimes and investigations, We say its built for everyone from beigneers to experts,  just boot the system with CD nice GUI shown above and GUI will guid you no need to use any extra brains. That doent makes you a forensic expert unless and until you know what your are dealing with or what are the results and to present them. As usual its a live CD lacking with reporting module.
