You all must be aware of Google as the ‘hackers best friend‘. It plays an important role in reconnaissance. You can find a lot of dorks for all those web applications, etc. There are tonnes of Google enabled, applications which let you do it all. But, when a name like cDc, short for Cult of Dead Cow accompanies any tool, it becomes important! So, Goolag Scanner is a product from the cDc labs.

Goolag ScannerGoolag Scanner was released some time last year. It is a dork tool. It is an automated ‘Google search’ application. By ‘Google searching’, we mean the use of dorks, Google Dorks to be precise. Goolag scanner takes advantage of Google dorks and helps you find some impressive information about your web application. In the past, information such as passwords, credit card information, etc have all been discovered via dorks.

Now, one very good thing about this application is that it can be run via www.goolag.org, or from your Windows OS as long as it supports the .Net Framework. It is open source too! It uses one xml-based configuration file for its settings. This file is located here:

{$Goolag Scanner-Installation Directory}/DorkData/gdorks.xml

You can also use a proxy to scan a host.

The current version is Beta 1.0.0.41, which can be downloaded here. It contains links to both: the source code and the compiled program as well.
